About Bar D Bar Landworks
Bar D Bar Landworks was founded in response to the increasing demand for fuels reduction and defensible space in Southern California. Our owner, Cameron Drown, is a 5th generation cattle rancher and learned at a young age the importance of managing land. In 2007, the vicious Which Fire of San Diego County had a huge impact on his family’s ranch. Prior to these devastating wildfires, control burns, also known as prescribed burns, were perform to open grazing land for cattle and reduce fuel loads in the area. Prescribed burns became a thing of the past and the only solution to clearing dense areas of brush for grazing land was forestry equipment known as masticators. Cameron began operating this equipment and soon realized the benefits and efficiency these machines have and saw an opportunity to help the community and land that raised him.
Bar D Bar Landworks is dedicated to providing services that protect and preserve the land. With increasing drought conditions and risk of wildfire, land clearing and forestry mulching is a proactive response to create defensible space for homes and communities. Our goal is to help customers reclaim their property of overgrown and dense brush, while creating a usable and safe landscape. We approach each job with an ecological mindset and aim to preserve the landscape.
Partnerships
As a testament to the dedication of providing safety to the community, Bar D Bar Landworks holds hired equipment contracts with the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection, also known as CALFIRE. These contracts allow us to operate our equipment on active fire lines to fight wildfire and create fire breaks to protect communities throughout the state of California. With this partnership comes annual training and an understanding of fire behavior, which we proudly incorporate in our daily operations and pass on to our customers for their safety.
